Papa… Papa… Paparazzi

There have been many celebrities who have filed lawsuits against the paparazzi for endangering them, or their friends and family. Of course many of these celebrities have ever won their case, because the judge always believes that the celebrity wanted attention, so they put themselves in that situation of having million of people follow them everyday. There are no laws against the paparazzi following celebrities and taking their pictures for their fans to see. Also the paparazzi aren’t paying the celebrities to take their pictures and publish them.
But now all of this is changing, and the first state that will have a law against the paparazzi would be California. Arnold Schwarzenegger the Governor has signed a measure into the California law allowing civil lawsuits against media outlets that commission or publish photos illegally. With this new law the paparazzi could be fined as much as $50,000 for violating the law.
California is one of the only states that will be adopting this law. They already have a law that makes photographers subject to legal action if they trespass on a celebrities private property. The law also states that the paparazzi may not photograph a celebrity who has a ” reasonable expectation of privacy’.
I couldn’t agree with the new law more, because celebrities, as well as innocent bystanders are getting hurt because the paparazzi wants to get that famous shot. Take the Princess Diana cas for example, I elieve that she still would have been alive if it weren’t for the paparazzi trying to chase her down. They need to know when to stop, because they are actually trampling over people in the streets, they are racing in their vechiles to try to catch up with a celebrity. I mean I know that celebrities love attention, and they like to take photographs, so the paparazzi should do it when they say that it’s okay. But when a celebrity has their hands up saying “stop” or ” no more pictures” then the paparazzi needs to know when to stop and back off.
